Former Pinole Valley catcher
Coley Crank is believed to be the first player in the modern era of Division I baseball to hit three home runs on opening day after blasting out a trio of balls for Michigan against Jacksonville State on Friday.
Crank was named one of Louisville Slugger's National Players of the Week. The sophomore designated hitter hit .467 (7-for-15) with four home runs and nine runs batted in at the Red Raider Invitational.
